What is Systemic Sclerosis?

Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a systemic connective tissue disease. Characteristics of systemic sclerosis include essential vasomotor disturbances; fibrosis; subsequent atrophy of the skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscles, and internal organs (eg, alimentary tract, lungs, heart, kidney, CNS); and immunologic disturbances accompany these findings. http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1066280-overview

Medscape has an absolutely awesome description of Systemic Sclerosis. Please be sure to follow the links all the way through, it is extremely comprehensive. However, don't get too caught up on the drug treatment options. I'd like for you to consider some natural and alternative choices first, by educating yourself on what is happening within your body. Some of the drugs used to "treat" SSc are incredibly dangerous and carry many side affects. However, I've been doing some fascinating research and look forward to sharing it with you. Please understand, however, that I am not a doctor, and my opinions should not be accepted as medical advice. If something you read on my blog is of interest to you, be sure to ask your doctor for their professional opinion before implementing any of what you find here.
